Croton

An extensive plant genus from Indonesia with a vast array of brightly coloured, variously shaped, perennial, evergreen leaves. Indoors or outside in the garden, they provide some of the boldest and brightest foliage around. Bright indirect light, a well-drained moist soil and warm, humid conditions will help them thrive. If their leaves fall off or lose colour, increase the light. Outdoors in warmer areas, they like a sandy, loamy soil and should be fertilised in the growing season with a liquid mix.
