A succulent shrub or small tree with a thick, upright succulent trunk and side branches capable of growing to around 7m. A little care is needed to start, but once established, they require little maintenance. They prefer a well-draining soil, plenty of sun, with a feed of half strength fertiliser in the growing season. They are ideal as houseplants (prune to size and shape!) as hedging or simply as an ornamental outdoors. (NB. Avoid contact with the milk sap or ‘latex.)
